Hello beautiful soul!
I hope this finds you well and staying cool this summer.
I know I've been out of touch for a while - it's been a really busy time for me, but I'm back to share some of what I've been up to.
If you know me, you know that I believe in our ability to marry effort and intention to manifest good things for ourselves.
Sometimes we just have to let go of needing to control every aspect.
More times than not, the Universe has something really good in store for us, and we just need to be open to it.
First, some personal news:
My husband and I sold our house and had been looking for about 5 months with no luck whatsoever. As you know, trying to find a home during a housing shortage (and in a really competitive market) can feel nearly impossible.
We had a very, very specific wish list of aesthetics and "like-to-haves" - what we wanted our house to look like, how much square footage we wanted it to have, the style and age, etc.
And we also had what I think of as a "heart-driven" wish list - full of the essential elements that we felt we needed to be happy. These were the less tangible but ultimately more important elements.
To make a long story short, we wanted to stay in our community, near the friends we'd made who meant so much to us. We wanted to be able to put our own touches on something. We wanted to be able to grow a sizable garden. We wanted a sunny lot. And my husband has wanted to have bees for some time now.
Most important, we wanted a place our pets, family and friends would enjoy, and where we could feel happy and content.
I'll admit, we were pretty stressed (understatement). I had many, many moments of questioning our decision to sell in the first place. As our move-out date approached, I feared we would wind up not finding anything.
In desperation, we decided to give a place in our neighborhood a second look.
Ultimately, we took the plunge.
Yet, the house we bought did not look at all like what we had hoped we'd find.
But it had many elements that we didn't know how much we'd appreciate.
For one thing, the setting is more private. There's less traffic past our house, so my dogs are calmer (this is huge).
And the walkway is lined with an abundance of hydrangeas - one of my favorite flowers.
The reason I mention all of this is that as you may have heard me say already, manifestation works best when we let go of trying to control every aspect of the outcome.
And sometimes you receive blessings you didn't even know to ask for.
We closed in less than a month (!) and I'm happy to say that this home, although in some ways completely different from what we were originally looking for, actually meets the most important criteria we had.
The pets are happy. At long last, we were able to see family and have them here for July 4th. I am growing my first vegetable garden.
And an unexpected bonus: we recently received our first batch of honey from the bee hives that came with the house.
It's delicious!
This has been a super busy and stressful few months.
But sometimes (often), life is sweet.
And I also got to interview a friend about his new children's book. You can read more about this here, and even better, you can check out the interview on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on my YouTube channel.
I hope you are taking good care of yourself and creating a life that makes you happy.
Warmly,
Traci
